- The avalanche slab ran approximately 1,200 feet across the aspect of the ridge.
- Karen had left her avalanche beacon on its charger at home the morning she hiked.
- The watch was thrown upward and outward between 15 and 20 feet before landing face-up.
- A trekking pole with an orange strap was driven tip-down into the snow about 60 feet from Karen’s final deposition.
- Ralph Rice discovered the ticking Timex at 6:40 AM during his delivery route.
