 Luna recalls an autumn evening in 1997, when a woman named Cora brought a pawned violin back to the shop on Route 9 in Hadley, Massachusetts. The instrument had been in the window for six weeks, and Cora claimed it played something else inside her house — something that wasn't the piece she had practiced.
