Scheduling sex is one of the most commonly given intimacy prescriptions. It's also one of the most reliably counterproductive. If you've ever spent all day dreading Thursday, you're not broken — you're experiencing exactly what scheduling does to desire.

In this episode, I'm walking you through five things that happen when you put sex on the calendar, why it trains desire out of the equation entirely, and what to focus on instead that actually creates conditions for intimacy to emerge naturally.

❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Q: Why does scheduling sex make me dread it instead of want it?
A: The moment sex goes on the calendar, your brain treats it like a task. You cannot desire a task. Scheduling assumes the problem is opportunity — but for most women, the problem is conditions. A calendar doesn't change conditions. It just adds pressure to the existing ones.

Q: Is scheduling sex ever a good idea?
A: For a small subset of people, yes. But there's an important distinction: scheduling protected connection time with no predetermined expectation is very different from scheduling sex. One creates conditions. The other creates obligation.

Q: How do I rebuild desire without scheduling intimacy?
A: Schedule the conditions that allow desire to emerge — emotional connection, physical affection with no agenda, and genuine off-duty time for your nervous system. When conditions are right, desire shows up on its own. It doesn't need an appointment.
