  • Barry Morphew Nearly Did WHAT to the Evidence Against Him?!
    2026/07/11

Barry Morphew's trial for the murder of his wife Suzanne is finally approaching, with jury selection set for October 13 in Alamosa after six years, a collapsed first prosecution, and a third trial delay. Start with the remains. Suzanne's body was found in a shallow grave near Moffat, Colorado, and an autopsy identified a wildlife tranquilizer called BAM in her bone marrow, a chemical prosecutors say only one private citizen in that area had legal access to. Two weeks after Barry pleaded not guilty for the second time, he allegedly authorized releasing Suzanne's remains to a funeral home for cremation. Prosecutors caught it and intervened one day before it was scheduled to happen. Then there's where he'd been. After the original case against him fell apart and the lead prosecutor was disbarred, Barry moved more than six hundred miles to a trailer park in Cave Creek, Arizona, and lived under at least two aliases, Bruce to a bar manager and Lee to a gas station clerk. The woman he lived with didn't learn his real identity until five days before his arrest, when he gave her a version of events that doesn't match the indictment. Investigators also found an AR-15 and a silencer in his safe. He was re-indicted, extradited from Arizona, and released on three million dollars bond. This episode lays out the full timeline: the aliases, the safe, the tranquilizer, the near-cremation, and the newest delay that's pushed the case back yet again while Suzanne's siblings cancel travel plans and her family in Indiana keeps waiting. Barry has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and remains presumed innocent under the law. Every piece of it points to the same open question the jury will have to answer. Here is the complete case against him, laid out piece by piece.

  • Barry Morphew’s Girlfriend Believed THIS About Suzanne
    2026/07/09

The October trial is off. Barry Morphew’s defense team told the court they aren’t ready, and Judge Amanda Hopkins granted a continuance that pushes the murder trial into 2027. The prosecution opposed the delay. Suzanne Morphew’s siblings objected in open court, with their attorney telling the judge they are tormented and need closure. They had already booked travel for the October date.

Barry Morphew waived his right to a speedy trial in January 2026 when both sides agreed to an October 13 start. The defense promised they would be ready. Five weeks before the continuance hearing, the same defense team filed thirty-one pretrial motions in a single batch — a coordinated legal strategy that required deep familiarity with the case file. Then they told the judge they didn’t have a sufficient grasp of the discovery to question witnesses.

Before his re-arrest in June 2025, Barry was living in Cave Creek, Arizona, under the name Lee Moore. The woman he’d been with since late 2024 had no idea he was Barry Morphew. He told her Suzanne had been “abducted” in Colorado. Police found an AR-15 and a silencer in his safe when they searched the home after the arrest. Tony Brueski examines the delay, the defense’s argument, and what Barry’s choices between the dropped charges and the re-indictment reveal about the man asking the court for more time.

Barry Morphew has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder.

  • Barry Morphew Tried to Have Suzanne’s Remains Cremated Before Trial
    2026/06/26

Barry Morphew is headed back to trial in October for the murder of his wife, Suzanne Morphew. This is the second time he has been charged. The first case collapsed under prosecutorial misconduct so serious that the district attorney was later disbarred. But what Barry did in the gap between the two prosecutions raises a question that is hard to ignore.

He moved to Arizona. He allegedly used fake names. At a trailer park in Cave Creek, he was reportedly known as Bruce in one place and Lee in another. When a woman at a bar recognized him and called him Barry, he denied it. By then, Suzanne’s remains had already been discovered in a shallow grave, and an autopsy found restricted wildlife tranquilizer in her bone marrow. Prosecutors have alleged Barry was the only civilian in the area with access to that substance.

Then came the move that changes everything.

After a grand jury re-indicted Barry in June 2025 and he entered a second not guilty plea, he allegedly signed paperwork authorizing Suzanne’s remains to be released and cremated. Those remains were the prosecution’s most important physical evidence. Law enforcement learned what was happening and seized them one day before the cremation was scheduled. Court filings reportedly show Barry’s signature on the authorization forms.

So what does that mean? Is that the action of an innocent man trying to move on, or the action of someone trying to make sure critical evidence disappears forever? That is the question hanging over this case.
