What does the Bible really teach about the blessing of God?

In this message, Pastor Jonathan Morgan explores the biblical foundation of “The Sworn Blessing” and God’s covenant with Abraham. Galatians 3 reveals that those who are in Christ are redeemed from the curse and invited to receive the blessing of Abraham through faith.

Beginning in Genesis, we see that God’s blessing carries the power to be fruitful, multiply, increase, and walk in the purpose and dominion God intended. The blessing isn’t simply the things we possess—it is the power and anointing of God at work in our lives, enabling us to become a blessing to others.

Through Abraham’s obedience in Genesis 22, we also see a powerful picture pointing forward to Jesus. God swore an oath to Abraham: “Blessing I will bless you.” This message connects that covenant promise to the sacrifice of Jesus and challenges believers to build their faith for God’s provision on His grace and Christ’s finished work—not on their own performance.
