OU's Moog second name drop on Twitter brought me to Eugene Frier of Texas Wesleyan University. Probably the smallest school I've talked to but with an attitude for esports as some of the major contenders. Eugene and I speak towards what it means to be building an esports program, a community and even get our nerd on reminiscing about vanilla World of Warcraft.

Wow! It seems like forever since an episode has come out!

This is a great catch-up episode with Rick, my original introduction to NEU, as well as the newly appointed Esports Coordinator, Tyler.

We go over everything that has happened with the school and Tyler's history within esports coming from Wichita State University and how Northeastern plays a pivotal role in the Boston area for collegiate esports.

There's a lot of context, information and cool stories to uncover in this episode. This is the first on-campus recording I've done and I have to say, I'm hungry for more!

Only three undefeated teams left: Ohio State, Central Florida and Iowa State.

Week 7 Recap:

British Columbia marches through Washington State
Oklahoma State and Maryville tied
UNC-Charlotte heavily fortifies third place in their group with a win over NJIT
Utah and Illinois State also tied putting their chances of making an appearance in the post-season very much in question

Games to Watch in Week 8:

UC-Davis vs. Northern Arizona in the race for 2nd place in Lion Group 1
Angelo State and Ferris State are top tier teams and could provide one of the highest level R6 matches of the week
Colorado Mines vs Michigan State couldn't have a closer match in the league at this time and in the middle of the pack in Falcon Group 2

Three groups have their top 5 set, but the order of their five is yet to be determined: Eagle Group 2, Falcon Group 2 and Viper Group 1

This week I got to sync up with John and Marco as they prepare for Season 2 of CollegeCOD (Call of Duty for the uninitiated). We go through the efforts and passion it has taken to get this far; speaking so highly of every community member, every team member and every school. The 'P' word comes out a lot in this episode. If I had to describe this whole idea of CollegeCOD, it would be as most elaborate passion project I have ever heard of in the esports space. John and Marco have their hands full building a proper collegiate scene with the community mindset that drives the most successful scenes.
