Why are times of rest difficult?

Why are these periods of rest important and what are the benefits?

Do not slack in your faithfulness and hard work. Let your spirit be on fire, bubbling up and boiling over, as you serve the Lord. 12 Do not forget to rejoice, for hope is always just around the corner. Hold up through the hard times that are coming, and devote yourselves to prayer. Romans 12:11-12 (Voice)

Do not slack in your faith, do not stop working hard, do not forget to rejoice!

Instead: Let your spirit be on fire, hold onto faith, and devote yourself to prayer.

Don’t burn out; keep yourselves fueled and aflame. Be alert servants of the Master cheerfully expectant. Don’t quit in hard times; pray all the harder. Romans 12:11-12 (MSG)
