概要
In this sermon, Charles Haddon Spurgeon explains the true origin of the Christian life: it is not the result of family heritage, human effort, or personal decision alone, but the work of God Himself. God makes Christians the same way He made the world: out of nothing, by His power alone.
Spurgeon carefully distinguishes between outward religion and the new birth, emphasizing that genuine faith arises from God’s sovereign grace. He goes on to show that the good works following salvation were also planned by God in advance — and that the very circumstances of your life, however difficult, are the exact conditions he prepared for you to live them out.
This sermon was preached on February 7th, 1884 and can be found in Volume 31 of the Metropolitan Tabernacle Pulpit.
