    !!!!TRIGGER WARNING!!!!

This episode contains references to death, prostitution, shame, and abandonment.

Show Notes – The Bloodline of Grace: Tamar

    Description:

Tamar’s story in Genesis 38 is not the one we expect to find in Jesus’ family line. It’s messy, filled with betrayal, injustice, and scandal. Yet Matthew includes her name in his genealogy on purpose. Why? Because Tamar’s story shows us that God works through the messy, defends the powerless, and redeems broken legacies. In this episode of The Bloodline of Grace, we slow down to walk through Tamar’s story and uncover powerful truths about God’s grace.

    Scripture Readings (CSB):

    • Matthew 1:1–3 (main text)
    • Genesis 38:24–26
    • Romans 8:28
    • Isaiah 54:4–5
    • Ruth 4:18–22
    • Hebrews 2:11
    • 2 Corinthians 5:17

    Key Takeaways:

    • God works through messy stories – Tamar’s brokenness became part of salvation history.
    • God defends the powerless – He restored dignity to one abandoned and voiceless.
    • God redeems our legacy – Through Tamar came Perez, David, and ultimately Jesus.
    • Your story, no matter how broken, can be rewritten by grace.

    Reflection Questions for Listeners:

    • What part of Tamar’s story most challenges or surprises you?
    • Where have you seen God bring redemption from messy circumstances?
    • Who are the “Tamars” God may be calling you to notice and defend today?

  • The Bloodline Of Grace- Intro
    2025/09/17

Show Notes – The Bloodline of Grace: Episode 1 – The Genealogy and the God of Grace

Description: Most of us skip over the genealogies in Scripture. A long list of names feels more like a history book than the start of the Gospel. Yet Matthew begins his story of Jesus with one on purpose. Why? Because hidden in that family tree is the story of God’s faithfulness, grace, and redemption across generations.

In this first episode of The Bloodline of Grace, we slow down to read Matthew 1:1–17 and uncover three powerful truths:

    1. God works through history – His timing is always perfect, even when centuries pass.
    2. God includes the outsider – the broken, the marginalized, and the unexpected.
    3. God redeems broken stories – Jesus enters into our mess, not to erase it, but to redeem it.

This isn’t just a genealogy. It’s good news. It’s grace written in bloodlines.

    Scripture Readings (CSB):

    • Matthew 1:1–17 (main text)
    • Genesis 12:2–3
    • Galatians 4:4–5
    • Isaiah 56:6–7
    • Romans 8:28
    • 2 Corinthians 5:17

    Key Takeaways:

    • The genealogy proves Jesus is the fulfillment of God’s promises to Abraham and David.
    • Matthew highlights outsiders (like Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, Bathsheba, and Mary) to show God’s plan has always included the unexpected.
    • Your past does not disqualify you from God’s future — in Christ, broken stories are redeemed.

    Reflection Questions for Listeners:

    • Where in your life do you need to trust God’s timing?
    • Who are the “outsiders” around you that God may be calling you to see differently?
    • How does knowing God redeems broken stories give you hope for your own?
