There is exactly one moment in the entire Bible where God's people have to be ordered to stop giving. It happens weeks after the worst thing they ever did.

The gold that became the golden calf is the same gold that becomes the house of God. Same people. Same hands.

Most of us have quietly decided the opposite about ourselves. We look at what we did with what we were handed, and we assume God will build His work with someone cleaner.

We walk Exodus 35 and 36, where Moses opens the building with a command to rest, where hearts are not merely "stirred" but lifted and carried, and where the craftsmen finally beg Moses to make the giving stop, because there is more than enough.

We open the one Hebrew word almost every translation softens, and we find the only thing that has ever produced generosity like this: mercy spoken over a failure.

Tomorrow the plans on the mountain finally become boards, curtains, and gold under human hands.
