  • Skeena Rathor Kashmiri - Why the Future Is Matricultural, Not Matriarchal
    2026/07/27

I finally found a woman who holds the transmission of what I am learning more about through this podcast: how a world beyond the patriarchy could look like (and it's not matriarchy).

Let's clean up this confusion around matriarchy: matriarchy is actually often used when people are trying to describe matriculture, because matriarchy still contains -"archy" which means "rule" or "governance". We don't want a world where women rule over men.

We want to create a world, in which we create a new paradigm all together: a paradigm that puts life, and thus children at the center. And Skeena Rathor Kashmiri is one of those women, who holds this vision with me - and with all of us.

    Bio:

Skeena holds 17 certificates in therapeutic practices and is recognised as a global award winning environmentalist. She has been a grass roots activist and community and political organiser from the age of nine, and also held national elected offices.

She is one of the co-founders of Extinction Rebellion, an environmental movement that had over 200.000 members at its peak.

She is also mother to three daughters of Jewish fathering.

Skeena is a granddaughter of the old people of Kashmir Valleys Himavat - The Kashmiri Himalayas, The Jhelum (pure water) River people and Rajastan.

Today Rajastan is home to the world’s most successful water cycle restoration project - Tarun Bharat Sangh - this project is part of realising how water cycle repairs can enable the stabilising of our climate. It is also the place of the inspiration of the Chipko people - people who circled a forest to protect their tree Kin and were massacred in their act of fierce protection.

The Kashmir Valley is the birth place of many indigenous technologies of breath, body and heart repairs

The region is also world renowned for its beauty and bio diversity.

In honour of her lineage Skeena’s endeavours are of ancient and new political Co Liberation systems designs, matricultural kinship economy and radical democracy systems designs rooted in the grandmothering frequency of unconditional love.

Her current work is of supporting paradigm evolutions located in constellations of global movements; murmurating and myceliating to restore the well life force of waters, peoples and lands for a possible future for grandchildren of all species.

She offers companionship not consultancy for leaderfull change for systems designs and body based healings for humans, waters and earth in gift economy and works with a Kashmiri cosmogram for human heart repairs.

  • Jack Becher - What is the patriarchy and how do we unlearn it
    2026/07/05

In this conversation Jack Becher and I talk about how the patriarchy affects ourselves, our relationships and the systems at large - and how patriarchy affects men and women differently.

This conversation is only just the beginning.

Jack Becher is a systems change facilitator working at the intersection of interpersonal and planetary transformation. With a background shaped by social-ecological movements and the recognition of our entanglement in collapsing systems, they now convene spaces for transformative learning and generative dialogue that nurture the radical alternatives emerging in the cracks. Jack is the Initiator and Co-Steward of the Generative Journalism Alliance, Beyond Patriarchy Collective and Kinstead Community.

    Generative Journalism Alliance

The Generative Journalism Alliance comprises storytellers and systems change practitioners located across the planet. Generative journalism is the act of publishing media that directly represents people’s experiences and intentions, is without interpretation, with the intention to create new life.

Beyond Patriarchy hosts collective learning journeys to explore how patriarchy shapes our lives, relationships, and ways of organising — and what it takes to ...unlearn them in practice.

The journeys are for people who want to explore how patriarchy shapes the relationship to yourself, others, and the world around us - and share responsibility for impact and harm without collapsing into guilt, shame, or defensiveness.

Kinstead community - A living experiment in different ways of relating beyond the default paths — and an open invitation as we embark on the next steps.

  • Bruce Parry - How Indigenous Societies Cultivate Egalitarianism Today
    2026/05/16

This conversation reveals that egalitarian societies exist today. Egalitarian societies are societies without the hierarchies that we know in our western culture today, with a different approach to power and community, whereas no-one governs over others. This is one of the ways how a civilisation beyond patriarchy could look like. We talk about how these indigenous tribes manage this egalitarian way of living and the desire for status and power. We generally touch on the world view that indigenous tribes have that is absent in the world today - and that would change our world if we were to adopt it.

Bruce Parry is an award winning documentary filmmaker specialising in films on globalisation, climate change and indigenous peoples. He became interested in direct democracy when making films about egalitarian societies and has spent the last ten years studying how to synthesise the tools, methods, and narratives of our ancestral past into the complex civilisations of today.

His documentary series for the BBC entitled Tribe, Amazon and Arctic, watched by over 5 million people, have shown Parry exploring extreme environments, living with remote indigenous peoples and highlighting many of the important issues being faced on the environmental frontline.

Parry directed and produced his debut feature documentary for the big screen, TAWAI – A voice from the forest, released in 2017. The film takes a deeper look into some of the issues touched upon within his television programmes and the personal lessons which he has learnt from his explorations.
