My mum, Belinda Prestney is our featured guest, and shares her story and experiences of her son, Josh Prestney, of his life and his passing. Following this, we delve into the journey of the incredible test of strength and resilience as she recently competed in the Ironman Triathlon World Championships in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii - the pinnacle of Ironman Triathlon.

In episode 5, we chatted with the brains behind the impressive new initiative called Safe Street. Born from just a simple idea, three ex police members have teamed up to create a community minded platform, that allows road users to report dangerous, reckless and unsafe driving.

With lived experiences with road trauma, for Alana, Robbie and Sally, safety of all road users is paramount. This platform allows anyone to blow the whistle on poor driving, to buck the trend and hold drivers accountable for their actions, with consequences. In episode 4, we chat with Janine Gerovasilis, who lost her son Elias whilst riding his motorcycle in Emerald on August 6th 2024. Elias was only at the beginning of his bright future with Victoria Police, that his family are now simply left to painfully wonder what could have been.

Janine speaks bravely of the deep impact their loss has had on their family, but proudly of her son about who he was, and her advocacy to help other motorcycle riders keep safe when using the roads. This is just one example of many of the ripple of road trauma, and what effect it has on so many close to those we've lost. We are so lucky to have people like Janine to be the voice of safety for those most vulnerable when using our roads.
