Born in London, England in the 60's, to a family of five. My parents came to England from the Caribbean islandof Grenada to seek a better life and opportunity here. I also have an older sister and younger brother. Our home was a three bedroom house in London where my dad worked nights and my mother had two part time jobs during the day. Looking back, things seem simpler then. I was the quiet one. I very rarely spoke as my sister loved to talk so everyone rememberedher and my brother, the boutrous one always wanting to fight and play football. but me, I was happy either helping my dad tear down wallpaper to add a new wallpaper or doing any painting and decorating inthe house. And also, helping mum with the cooking and cleaning.

Since I was young, I have always loved to dance to music, sing songs, laugh at comedy shows and decorate cakes. I always enjoyed being creative.

Whether by doing some form of artwork (drawing and painting) or writing poetry this was my outlet. Although I never thought that I would become a writer, from the time I was in my early teens, I wanted to design and build homes for homeless children not knowing that I would become homeless at nineteen.

My name is Korinne Salisbury. I am new to the film industry but vigorously pursuing my passion for it. I am directing a short film that I wrote in late June-early July. I am seeking funding for this film currently, so it is in pre-production. I have always been passionate about the film industry. My love for film started as a child when I would watch Harry Potter and be enthralled by the movies. But my true appreciation for film started in high school, where I grew to appreciate directors and writers just as much as I did actors. I work hard to pursue my passions and will continue to do so without hesitation. I am a firm believer in building connections and establishing a name for yourself from the ground-up.

  • Live Radio With Teri M Brown
    2023/01/20
Teri M Brown wanted to be a writer when she was just four years old. However, she laughs and says she also wanted to be a brain surgeon and an Olympic Ice Skater. Nevertheless, the desire to write never fully left her. She began her writing careerhelping small businesses with their written content and even wrote several nonfiction self-help books dealing with real estate and finance along the way. But it wasn’t until she got out of a long-term emotionally abusive marriage that she finally began to dabble in fiction. After winning the First Annual Anita Bloom Ornoff Award for Inspirational Short Story in 2017 for a piece about her grandfather, she began writing in earnest.Although she had several completed manuscripts,Teri still didn’t believe in herself. That all changed after an epic adventure. She met Bruce, the man she would marry in 2019, and the two of them rode across the United States from the coast of Oregon to Washington, DC on a tandem bicycle. At the end of those 3,102 miles (4,992 km), Teri was a different person. She realized that she could achieve anything if she set her mind to it. So, she got her manuscript, Sunflowers Beneath the Snow, into the hands of Atmosphere Press, and her debut novel about three generations of Ukrainian women launched in January 2022, just three weeks before the current Ukrainian crisis.Since then, she hasn’t looked back.Teri’s second novel, An Enemy Like Me, launches on January 24, 2023. An Enemy Like Me is a WWII historical fiction that focuses on a first-generation German-American who becomes an American soldier. However, instead of fighting the Japanese as he expected, he finds himself fighting Germans –those more like him than different from him. Readerssee how he handles this angst from his own viewpoint, his wife’s point of view, and that of his son (both as a 4-year-old left behind and as an adult reflecting on the past).

  • Karen Skinner,

One of my favourite questions is when someone asks me, ‘Hey Karen, what do you do for fun?’ I can then say, ‘I write novels,’ (as you do). I’ve written all sorts of short stories, but for novels Ilove writing crime fiction with a strong conspiracy twist. It’s criminally good fun.I’m a print operator by trade and temp to support my writing habit. In between assignments I write about my brave, but troubled protagonist, Kim Anderson and her fight against the sinister Fireflight organisation. The best storiescome from the most unlikely places and if you enjoy blending crime and conspiracy as much as I do, you’ll never run out of ideas. Some of the most entertaining ones are heard around a restaurant table (usually one with a very good bar) and, near the end of the evening, somewhere between the coffee and taxi home, the conversation will start to dip into the events on the news. Someone, who should have excused themselves a couple of drinks ago, will then lean forward to whisper, ‘I’ll tell you what really happened.’This is the moment when most of the dinner guestswill pull out their phones to call the local cab office. I pull out my phone too, but I press the voice record button.

  • Gary Benson and The Right Buzz
    2022/12/16
Benson spent eight weeks on the UK Singles Chart in 1975 with his own composition, "Don't Throw It All Away". The single, released on the State Records label (State Records STAT10), reached No. 20 on the chart,[2] leading to an appearance on BBC Television's Top of the Pops. The song had originally been recorded by the Shadows, and they had performed it in the 1975 A Song for Europe contest, where it finished fourth of six entries. The song was covered in the United States by the Delfonics in 1978. There are also a number of reggae versions that include a dancehall style cut by Barrington Levy. Olivia Newton-John recorded a version of the track, including it on her 1976 album Come On Over.

Benson had further attempts at winning the UK ticket to the Eurovision Song Contest, reaching the UK finals in 1977 with "After All This Time", performed by Wesley, Park and Smith, finishing fifth of 12; in 1981 with "All Cried Out", which he performed himself to place fourth of 8, and was later released on the WEA label; and in 1993 with "It's Just a Matter of Time" performed by Sonia, finishing last of eight entries. Benson tried again in 1998 with Alan Glass on the song "Give It Up" performed by Lisa Millet which finished eighth of the eight songs in the preliminary radio heat.

In 1970, Benson's composition "Can't Afford to Lose", recorded by Jon Lukas, made it to the top 40 charts in the UK and some other European territories. It also occupied the top place in the pop charts in Lebanon for a full month, holding back the Beatles' "The Long and Winding Road" from reaching the No. 1 spot.[3] Benson's song "Let Her In" was recorded by John Travolta which became a hit in 1976. Several other songs originally written and recorded by Benson were also recorded by Travolta, such as "Can't Let You Go" and "Whenever I'm Away from You", as well as by his brother, Joey Travolta ("Something's Up (Love Me Like the First Time)"). Another of Benson's compositions, "Close to You", was recorded by Maxi Priest.[4] In 1976, he composed and sang "You", but it did not reach the UK charts.
