    2022/01/01

Happy New Year! What a year 2021 was, a year constantly governed by the effects of Covid, yet still remarkable in its own way. What better way to begin the year than to bring you another extra special episode, it's a 2022 special to start off the new year. Join us as we sit down with Fawaz Da Silva H (FDS*) – a member of the Pioneers Space Team and the man who conceived the idea of what we now know as Pioneers Space and made it a reality!

Listen in as we have a deep, thought-provoking conversation about who FDS* is as a man and as a Pioneer. We discuss his personal journey through life – and the different trials and tribulations he faced even at a young age.

We also touch on other important matters such as what it means to him to be black, racism in the world today and the contempt, disregard and misalignment of black women in society.

An enthralling conversation, FDS* provides so many gems in this discussion, we even had to stop him from giving too much away!

This is an episode you definitely won’t want to miss out on.

Here’s to 2022 being our best year to date!

  • The Pioneers Space Podcast - A conversation with Natalie Ojevah Part 2
    2021/12/20

We are back with the second part to the enthralling conversation with our Pioneer Natalie, with the recent passing of an inspiration professor, feminist and social activist Bell Hooks what better way to celebrate her life than to celebrate an inspiration that’s still here with us.

Judging by the feedback we received from the first part we know that this second part is one that you will thoroughly enjoy. With questions like “At what point did you realise that your current position is merely a platform to get to where you want to get to?” be prepared for a deep, investigative conversation that potentially gets you thinking about yourself and where you want to get to.

We continue the conversation with Natalie, with a focus on her career and how she rose up through the ranks at Barclays, we touch up on what she has planned for the near future and also how she manages to juggle that with being a mother!

  • The Pioneers Space Podcast - A conversation with Kamzie Kamzies Kitchen
    2021/12/06

Kamzie joins us today and takes us through his journey from cooking for friends in his garden to running a highly successful catering business.

Listen in, as he explains how he has since had to mature as a business owner; we delve into the more technical side, the side that takes him away from his true love, the kitchen (don’t tell the Mrs!), as he unravels how he manages different parts of the business from operations to marketing and sales!

During the conversation, Kamzie opens up a vulnerable side to us as in an attempt to disentangle the origins of his love for food, he discusses how important of a role his father played on his journey, and how he continues to not only look up to him but also lean on him for support.

Some key lessons Kamzie shared with us is knowing when to say no to “friends” and also the difficulty of separating business from personal relationships. We learn about his motivations and inspirations as a business owner and how he kept his passion for Kamzies Kitchen even after taking a year out.

This is a conversation we thoroughly enjoyed, and we think you will too. Ready, Steady, Cook!
