Have you ever been alone at Christmas? Not much fun, was it? What did or can you do about it? Give a listen to our short Journal entry about a lonely old Cowboy named Chip Evan and let's share for a moment.

    Scripture Reading: Luke 2:7

"And she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them."

    Scripture Reading: Hebrews 13:2

"Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it."

    Scripture Reading: Matthew 25:35-40

"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in... Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me."

Dutch & Slim's Cowboy Candy (Coffee Toffee) Recipe

    Ingredients:

    • 2 cups sugar
    • ⅓ cup strong black coffee (brewed from the camp pot)
    • Pinch of salt
    • A dab of butter or grease (to oil the pan)

    Instructions:

    1. Heat Up the Skillet: Set your cast iron skillet on the Ben Franklin stove and let it warm up good and hot.
    2. Add Sugar & Coffee: Pour the sugar into the skillet, then add the hot coffee and a pinch of salt. Stir with a wooden spoon or whatever you got.
    3. Stir & Watch: Keep stirring so it don't burn. When the mixture starts bubbling and turns a deep golden brown, it's ready. (If you have a cold creek nearby, drop a bit in—if it hardens quick, it's done.)
    4. Pour & Cool: Grease a tin plate or a flat surface with a dab of butter. Pour the hot syrup onto it and let it cool for about an hour.
    5. Break & Enjoy: Crack it into chunks with your knife handle. Enjoy a sweet taste of Christmas out on the range!

Scripture Reference: Proverbs 18:24 "But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother."

  • Episode 85 Every Day Is Thanksgiving
    2025/11/26

Thanksgiving. What are you thankful for? Think about that while we listen to this week's journal entry. Then let's think about that question together. Our scripture reference is

Philippians 4:6. " Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be known to God; And the peace of God which passes all human understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus".
