More about Angela: Angela Sarabia graduated UF law with honors. While at UF Law, Angela volunteered with a local domestic violence shelter and completed a semester long internship in a specialized domestic violence unit of the State Attorney’s office. Once out of law school, Angela spent part of her legal career as an Assistant State Attorney in the 6th Judicial Circuit where she handled both misdemeanor and felony domestic violence cases. Angela has since left the full time practice of law and is currently homeschooling her 3 children.
Though no longer a prosecutor, Angela continues to serve the community by advising victims of domestic violence and their family members on a pro bono basis. Angela Sarabia was a prosecutor on the front lines of the fight against domestic violence. She has prosecuted abusers, volunteered for local shelters, and is a voice in the community against domestic violence. She'll discuss the dynamics of power and control that fuel the violence as well as the need for spiritual healing after surviving such relationships. She currently leads 'Her Journey' group that provides faith-based help for women survivors of abuse.
More information can be found at https://abuserecovery.org/her-journey/ Abuse Recovery Ministries or ARMS. They certify people (like me) to lead a 16 week class/support group called Her Journey which helps women find the strength to leave and heal from abusive relationships. All classes are free of charge and many provide child care. For safety reasons they do not publicize the dates and times of classes.
