He had his own show, his face was on magazine covers, and he was the spokesperson for a major soda brand. Most people who saw the intrusion that night assumed it was a prank, the kind of stunt a bored engineering student pulls to get attention.The FCC opened a federal investigation the next morning. What they found changed the read on the whole incident. To override Chicago's broadcast signal, whoever did this had to point a stronger signal at the downtown antenna tower and knock the licensed signal off the air.
