What if the most important question Jesus will ask you isn't about your church attendance or Bible knowledge, but simply: "Did you do business?" Pastor Jeremy takes us into Luke 19, where Jesus tells a powerful parable just before His final journey to Jerusalem—a story that reveals our true purpose and exposes our deepest excuses. In this gripping tale of a nobleman and his servants, we discover that Jesus has entrusted each of us with the same precious gift: the gospel, represented by a mina of silver. While some servants multiplied their master's investment ten-fold and five-fold, earning cities to rule, one servant wrapped his mina in cloth and hid it away, making excuses about his master's severity. Jeremy challenges us to examine our own "cloths"—those comfortable excuses we use to hide the gospel instead of sharing it: "I'm too busy," "People don't respond anymore," "I'm just not talented like that." But that cloth, he declares, should be used to wipe the sweat from our brow as we work for the gospel, not to bury God's gift. As citizens of Puerto del Sol who often declare "I don't want anyone to rule over me," we face the same choice as the characters in Jesus' story. The time for excuses is over—Jesus is asking you today: which servant will you be?
