“We lost the concentration and they scored two goals. But we managed to get back to the game, we scored two goals again and then we have to finish the game.

“We need to think about not to go again, but to take calm and to close the game. A lot of good things, but a lot of things to work.

“We are not winning games sometimes in the details because it’s a back four, back three, back five. It’s the details that we need to work, understand the momentum of the game. You need to be more clinical, because today against a very good team we create so many chances to win the game.

“We need to focus on the performance today, different from the last two at home. That is also a point that we pay attention to. The result is the same and at one point, it’s frustrating, but the performance is different.”

“Losing second balls, running with the ball, they were winning the first ball. We can control that kind of game. We should be better with the ball after the first goal.

“The characteristics with the players inside the box were sometimes not enough.”

“It was really important. But again, it was not just the goal, even the runs behind. In the first half, he struggled in the duels, and he won some duels in the second half.

“And we improved a lot because of the quality of Josh in the second half. And that is important for him to understand. That is not just the goal. We played better because Josh played better in the second half.

“I just said to the players [at half time] we need to be more alive, and you can feel that. So if you are more alive, you are in more places, you are near the ball more often and I think everyone did that.

“But we also need to understand that the opponent was tired in the second half. And when you increase the rhythm and the opponent gets tired a little bit, suffers a goal right away, you feel that we had the control of the game and that’s it.”

“I felt that because I had the feeling, if you see the last plays of the game, they were struggling so much to take the ball out of the box. “And you can feel it, the way they move, that they were getting tired for the second half.

“We talked about that and again, our pace in the first half, intensity, we cannot play like that in the Premier League. “So we increased that and I had the feeling, we had the feeling that if we score one goal, this is going to change completely.”

“Frustration, disappointment with the way we played the game. They were the better team with 11 men. They defended really well with 10 men for 70 minutes. We deserved to lose. We didn’t play well, with the right intensity.

“We are not there, not even near the point that we should be to fight for the best positions. We have a lot to do. We have to be perfect to win games, we were not perfect to win games.

“Fighting is not a bad thing. Fighting doesn’t mean they don’t like each other. Fighting is if you lose the ball, I will fight you because we will suffer a goal. That was my feeling with that red card.

“I don’t agree with that sending off. We can fight with team-mates. I know it’s violent conduct, the referee explained it, I don’t agree with that. I hope my players, when they lose the ball, they fight each other. I hope they don’t get sent off, but that is a good feeling not a bad feeling.

“My players showed in many games we can do it. Today, we didn’t. I need to help them. We need to be better in the future.”

Ruben Amorim : “We have a lot of problems. We are just in the beginning. I know that sometimes the results show to people that we are improving, but we have a lot to do.

“You can divide the game in the final 10 minutes, also when we have to take out Harry Maguire and Casemiro at the same time, then suffer two goals, then losing [Sesko], even before the second goal with a big opportunity.

“To play with 10 men, but then to overcome everything and to manage to score, is a good thing, but if you look at the rest of the game, we were comfortable.

“I think we should do better, be more aggressive, feeling the environment in the stadium.

“The three points were there, the space was there, and I think we felt too comfortable during the game, and we need to expect that in one play anything can happen and change the mood of the stadium, and today was that.

“We controlled the game well, but we need to do better, because the game was there for the taking.”

Ruben Amorim : "I think we dropped the energy level. You can feel it when our team is not at the top of their energy and aggression. You can feel it. We managed to score again, we tried to win the game, we had a big opportunity in the end. We missed that little bit of luck. We need to work to bring the same away from home as we do in our stadium.

“We are getting better. Everyone can see. We are getting that feeling that if we can’t win, at least we aren’t going to lose. The way we press, the urgency with certain things, I think we did better last Sunday. We need to be like that in every game.”

“It’s something good for the fans. It was a really important goal for us. But I’m more focused on the 90 minutes. And what we did good. That’s what I’ll tell the players. Sometimes I forget that part and I judge the players when I see the games. But, we are doing things right. We are controlling the game. Of course we can do so much to grow. But there are a lot of things we are doing right.

“The good thing is I can see so much more potential to do better things. If you combine those two things, we are progressing.”

“The performance was important. We played different games in different moments. It would not be Manchester United without suffering a bit.

“The best game we did was against Arsenal, but when you have a different spirit, we are a bit more free playing the game. We have a different confidence.

“I never had that feeling of embarrassment of not winning games, I felt Jim always believed, but to face the fans was difficult in that moment. It’s so hard in football, everything can change in one minute.

“We are improving in the bad moments, and respond in a different way. You can feel it with the team. Let’s enjoy, but that urgency of this can change must be there.

“The team play so much better compared to last season. We have players more suited to this type of style. I like more today than last week, it was more complete.”
