He wasn’t just an author, he was a science fiction editor too. He was the founding editor of If, although he only edited four issues. A few years later he became the editor of Amazing Stories and Fantastic. Two of his short stories, The Deadly City and The Cosmic Frame made their way to the big screen. The Deadly City which was published in 1953 became the movie Target Earth in 1954.
