Today we conclude our series “God’s Design for the Church.” Something was sitting in ruins. Everybody knew it. Everybody could see it. But somehow, life kept moving around it. Then God spoke—not to explain why it mattered, but to confront why it had been neglected. We conclude “God’s Design for the Church” with a passage that forces a question we cannot avoid: What has God called us to build that we have learned to walk around?

This week, we continue our series “God’s Design for the Church” as it moves into territory that is often spoken about—but rarely examined under Scripture. No titles. No assumptions. Just what God requires—and what that means for all of us.

This Sunday, “God’s Design for the Church” confronts the one assignment that exposes everything. No noise. No extras. Just the words of Christ—and what they actually require.

Something is broken—but few are willing to say it out loud. We gather, we sing, we go through the motions… yet beneath the surface, there’s a question we’ve avoided for far too long: What is the church supposed to be? This Sunday, we begin a journey—not into opinions, traditions, or preferences—but into something far deeper, far older, and far more demanding. Before we can become what God intends, we must confront what we have become.

You’re not as surrounded as you think. Fear says, “Look at what’s against you.” Faith says, “Look at Who is with you.” There are things happening around you that you cannot see. But God is not absent. He is active.

There are two kinds of wisdom in this world. One produces jealousy, confusion, and division. The other produces peace, humility, and righteousness. This Sunday we’ll ask a powerful question: Which wisdom are we living by?
