- The body was found face down, covered by a canvas tarp weighted with river stones, with one hand visible.
- The attendance card recorded seven weeks of attendance in the autumn of 1909 and bore only the name "Dora."
- Julie Zeller worked as a bookkeeper at the Dellard Timber Cooperative since 1912 and made weekly collect calls every Wednesday after 10 pm to Walter Beem.
- Walter Beem was the Harmon Mission School administrator from 1904 until the school burned in 1911 and confirmed Zeller had been an assistant teacher there from 1907 until the fire.
- A University of Oregon historian in 1981 dated the card's lamination materials to roughly 1912-1915, indicating Zeller preserved it after the 1911 fire.
