Some stories don't roar. Some of them just steep.
When Akari moves to the countryside to escape people, not adopt mythical reptiles, she finds a dying tea dragon curled around her garden's last tea bush. His scales are the dull brown of forgotten tea leaves. His wings are frayed like overused tea bags.
His name is Pip. Short for Pipsqueak, which he absolutely hates.
What follows is a quiet story about a garden, a bargain struck over tea, a retired warlord in fuzzy slippers, and the kind of healing that only happens slowly, like leaves unfurling in hot water.
Read like a bedtime story. Scored with a single shamisen. Best enjoyed with something warm.
"You just needed the right place to grow."
