Last week, I talked about what it looks like to coast in business, and today I'm taking that conversation a step further. Because coasting well doesn't happen by accident. There are some essential things I need in place to be able to slow down, step back, and still keep my business moving.

For me, one of the biggest things is knowing where my revenue is coming from, even when I'm not showing my face, creating content, or actively selling every single day. I also talk about the importance of knowing exactly where your money is going. At one point, I realized I was spending nearly $7,500 a month on subscriptions and software I wasn't even using. That was a wake-up call that I needed to pay closer attention to my numbers.

Whether you're in a season of growth or a season of coasting, your business still needs structure, healthy systems, and financial awareness. In this episode, I'm sharing the things that have allowed me to coast without completely stepping away from my business, and why building that kind of foundation can give you freedom in every season of entrepreneurship.

What does it actually mean to coast in business?

Coasting doesn't mean stepping away from your business completely, and it doesn't mean you're aggressively scaling, adding more, or pushing harder every single day. Sometimes, coasting simply means maintaining what you've built and giving yourself room to focus on other areas of life without everything in your business falling apart.

In today's episode, I'm sharing what coasting has looked like for me and my business over the past month. With life happening, school starting back up, and the beginning of my real estate flipping journey, I haven't been operating at full speed. Instead, I've been able to lean on the infrastructure, systems, team, and foundation I've built over the years.

As I close out this season with my first flip property, I took a moment of reflection where I really needed to redefine the way I look at success. Years ago, I started looking at success in business in a much healthier way. Instead of obsessing over followers, likes, visibility, and other vanity metrics, I began paying attention to the numbers that actually matter: revenue, profit, cash flow, expenses, and the overall health of my business.

In today's episode, I'm challenging the way you define success as a woman in business. So many of us set mountain-high goals and then convince ourselves we are failing when we don't reach the peak fast enough. But what if success looks different than you thought it did? What if growing a profitable business, making wise decisions, serving your customers well, and simply continuing to build is something worth celebrating?

There are business owners operating at a loss. Some have no employees. Some have walked away from their businesses altogether. And some have settled for far less than what they were capable of building. If you are still showing up, making decisions, learning, adapting, and building your business, it may be time to recognize just how much success is already sitting in front of you.
