When Angel leaves, Ivory's reaction is shocking—he actually forgets his beef with Velle and gets on his knees to beg for Angel's safety. • The Final Critique: While the romance was comforting, I did not hold back on my critique of the book's structure. At 905 pages , the constant, confusing timeline jumps between past and present POVs really ruined the pacing for me. I explain why a chronological order would have been much better , and how the final conflict resolution felt a bit too easy.
