概要

Luna recalls a night in the late autumn of 2019, when she was anchored near the mouth of the Chocolay River on Lake Superior. A retired fisherman named Ezra told her about the wreck of a 1890s ore freighter — the Cradle — that sank with all hands three miles off the shore. He claimed that on certain nights, when the wind is down and the water is flat, you can still hear the bell ringer. Luna rowed out to the coordinates he gave her. What she found was not a ghost. Not a bell. Just the sound of a child humming beneath the hull of her skiff.
