  • Episode 3: Start With Your Capacity, Not With Your Calendar
    2026/08/17

Before you open your inbox or review your calendar, ask: What capacity do I actually have available for the week ahead?

In Episode 3 of The Monday Morning Capacity Check™, Dr. Kim Hires explains why effective leadership begins with assessing capacity, not organizing tasks.

This episode introduces Capacity–Load Alignment and a practical five-point capacity check to help you identify the demand most likely to strain your capacity and determine whether to reduce, renegotiate, reschedule, reassign, or request support.

Your capacity rating is not a judgment of your competence. It is information.

  • Episode 1: What If We Have Been Measuring the Wrong Thing?
    2026/08/13

In this inaugural episode of The Human Capacity Advantage™, Dr. Kim Hires examines one of the most persistent assumptions in organizational life: that sustainable performance can be understood primarily through productivity, engagement, and results.

Organizations measure what people produce, but often pay far less attention to the human capacity that produces those outcomes. Drawing from Industrial-Organizational Psychology, the Job Demands-Resources Model, leadership research, and her experience as a scientist, executive advisor, and organizational consultant, Dr. Kim introduces the seven dimensions of Human Capacity: cognitive, emotional, physical, behavioral, relational, professional, and adaptive.

This episode explores the relationship between leadership, burnout, workplace well-being, organizational culture, and sustainable performance. It also presents a different understanding of leadership: not simply the management of work, but the stewardship of the people doing it.

The Human Capacity Advantage™ is a podcast for leaders, professionals, organizations, and anyone interested in building workplaces where people can perform well without sacrificing their capacity to live well.

New episodes of The Human Capacity Advantage™ Podcast are released every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
