概要
Episode 9 — The Hinterkaifeck Murders
Bavaria, Germany. March 1922.
In the days before the murders, strange things began happening on an isolated farm known as Hinterkaifeck. Footprints appeared in the snow leading toward the farmhouse — but none leading away. The family reported hearing unexplained noises in the attic. And a house key mysteriously went missing.
Then, sometime during the night, six people living on the farm were brutally murdered.
The victims included the Gruber family, two young children, and a maid who had arrived to begin work only hours before the attack.
But the mystery deepened even further when neighbours noticed something disturbing in the days after the killings.
Smoke continued rising from the chimney.
The animals were still being fed.
Someone appeared to still be living on the farm.
In this episode of Shadows of Crime, we explore the events leading up to the Hinterkaifeck Murders, the horrifying discovery inside the farmhouse, and the investigation that followed one of Europe’s most disturbing unsolved crimes.
More than a century later, the identity of the killer remains unknown.
