The Hearing God Podcast explores what it means to live a Spirit-led life in the everyday. The moments of clarity and the moments of confusion. The risk of stepping out and the grace that meets you when you do. Each episode blends prophetic insight with honest, practical conversation so you leave not just informed, but moved.

If you're hungry to know God more deeply, not just know about Him, this is for you.

Questions? Fun God stories? Let us know!

Anxiety has a way of feeling responsible, like if we stop worrying then something will fall apart. We sit down and tell the truth about that pressure, how it grows when hard circumstances hit, and how quickly it can sneak into identity. We start with a personal reflection on recovery and “convalescing,” not as a dirty word, but as the process of getting stronger and stepping back into life with a healthier mindset.

From there we go deep on a simple biblical invitation that is anything but automatic: “Cast all your cares on Him, because He cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7). We talk about the real-life moment when you realize you have been ruminating for hours, the warning signs that show up as “fruit” in your heart, and why the fruit of an unburdened life looks like rest. We share two practical ways to pray when your mind won’t stop spinning: a breath prayer you can do in minutes, and a short releasing prayer we return to again and again, naming the people and situations we cannot fix while guarding peace.

We also explore Philippians 4:6-7 and why gratitude becomes a declaration that shifts posture from under the weight to seated with Christ, helping us rule over the cares of life instead of being ruled by them. If you need a grounded Christian approach to anxiety, prayer, Sabbath rest, and hearing God in the middle of stress, this conversation is for you.

  • Breaking Up Fallow Ground

Questions? Fun God stories? Let us know!

God can speak through a scent, a sentence, or a sudden inner knowing and sometimes it’s so unexpected we don’t even have a category for it. We start with why we’ve spent years having open, agenda-free conversations about hearing God, the prophetic, and the mystical, and why we think the Church needs more room for honest stories that don’t fit an “enlightenment-only” worldview.

Then we tell a fresh prophetic story: a friend drives past a construction site, smells newly excavated earth, and hears the Lord say, “I love that smell.” That one line leads us straight into Hosea 10:12 and the call to “break up your fallow ground.” We explore what fallow ground can mean in Christian spirituality: places in the heart that are unplowed, places that were once worked but left untouched for a season, and places that became hard because of fear, pain, disappointment, distraction, or self-protection. We also talk about how God may revisit an old calling or dream you assumed was finished, not to shame you, but to bring rain and plant something new.

Along the way we get practical about prophetic ministry, spiritual gifts, and why we believe every believer can grow in prophecy through relationship with the Holy Spirit. We name repentance as the doorway to change, trust as the thing our hearts most need, and partnership with God as the core invitation: he loves working with us, not around us. If you feel stuck, restless, or out of your depth, you’ll hear simple prayers and next steps that start with honesty and end in hope.

Questions? Fun God stories? Let us know!

What if God is not done with you and never will be, and what if the next step is available right now?

We talk about spiritual growth as a lifelong process and why that matters when you're discouraged, aging, grieving, or simply tired. Along the way we unpack a Dallas Willard line that reframes everything, that you are an unceasing spiritual being with an eternal purpose in God's great universe. That lens gives you permission to stop living in regret, stop treating failure as final, and start doing the next faithful thing.

A big turning point is joy. Not hype. Not denial. The joy of the Lord as strength. We get practical about how joy differs from happiness, how you can suffer with Christ without slipping into anti joy, and how choosing joy can restore momentum even when nothing feels easy.

Then we explore hearing God through a both and framework. God wires you with interests and skills, and God also speaks with specific direction. We name the two ditches, waiting forever for a spiritual download or charging ahead without relational listening, and we argue there's no secular sacred divide. Your ordinary routines, your work, and your faithful presence in hard seasons can still glorify God and expand the kingdom.

If this conversation helps you take one concrete step forward, subscribe, share it with a friend, and leave a review. What's the next thing you know you should do?
