  • 17. Ancestral Healing, Reclaiming Identity, and Stepping Into Our Own Unique Magic with Marcella Kroll
    2026/08/31
In this episode I chat with author, deck creator, and spiritual teacher Marcella Kroll.

We talk about demons, which Marcella refers to as "divine infernals," and some mischaracterizations or misunderstandings many may have about these beings, and why they are important. We also discuss beings who are on the 'darker' side of things, such as Lucifer and Santisima Muerte.

We also discuss what it's been like to age and mature as creators who have been 'people on the internet' for more than a decade, and how what we share, create, and put our attention toward has changed. We also discuss addiction, recovery, sobriety, and how magic can sometimes impede recovery/healing and be used as escapism.

Identity, reclaiming our ancestral background(s), and working with spiritual entities outside of our background (and within it!) is also something we get into, as well as the weirdness of identity policing and the rise of entitlement and parasocial relationships in the spiritual community on the internet.

An important and interesting multifaceted episode you won't want to miss!

On The Heal and Harm Show on YouTube, I dive into deep discussions with spiritual, witchy, occult, wellness, and self-help oriented guests to talk about what happens when we try to heal ourselves and improve our lives. So often in the spiritual space, people seeking healing and community end up in cults, abused, or more messed up than they were at the start of their journey. Named after the phrase, "a witch who can't heal can't harm" (and vice versa), this show explores the light and dark sides of spirituality, magic, witchcraft, healing, and more. • 16. The Importance of Beautiful Artwork and Allowing Ourselves to Be Bewitched with Elisa Vita
    2026/08/17
In this episode of The Heal and Harm Show, I chatted with Montreal based oil painter Elisa Vita. Elisa sees her painting process as a form of shamanistic expression and channelling of the ephemeral into the material, rather than a form of individual self expression.

We discuss journeys through grad school and finding a voice as a witchy artist, and 'coming out of the broom closet' in both the academic world, and the art world (which has been overtaken by certain political ideologies). We talk about the importance of love and beauty, and coming into a sense of ownership of spirituality and artistic creation, as well as stepping into a worthiness of receiving money for our artwork (as well as becoming comfortable spending money on pleasure, luxury, beauty, and art created by others)!

We also talk about artists as witches, and artmaking as a form of magic, and how "the task of an artist is to bewitch." Elisa also shares her experiences connecting with animal spirits, faeries, the natural environment, and healthy fear around magic and the spiritual realm.

Elisa Vita is also the creator of the Creative Bewitchment podcast and essay series.

  • 15. Shadow Work, Personal Growth, and How to Solve Your Birth Chart with James of JD Astrology
    2026/08/03
In this episode, I chat with James from JD Astrology, creator of the Charted Astrology Podcast. We begin by discussing James' unusual entrypoint into astrology as well as his unconventional background, which influences his unique perspectives. We talk about astrology as a tool for personal development, facing the 'bad' or challenging parts of ourselves, and how, no matter how terrible your birth chart might seem, it can absolutely be 'solved' or worked through in order to be brought back into balance. We also discuss philosophical questions such as whether or not there are 'bad' or 'good' charts, whether everything is fated or if we have full free will, and more!

We also discuss the balances of masculine and feminine energies in astrology, and how the planets relate to masculine and feminine qualities, as well as the importance of rising signs.

  • 14. Personal Sovereignty, Heretical Witchcraft, and Facing the Fire with Peter Grey and Alkistis Dimech of Scarlet Imprint
    2026/07/20
In this episode of The Heal and Harm Show, I chat with Scarlet Imprint - Peter Grey and Alkistis Dimech! Scarlet Imprint is one of the most innovative, iconoclastic, and important occult/spiritual interventions in publishing. I ask them about their unique blend of offerings (books from a variety of spiritual traditions), how they select the books they spend time on and usher into the world, the unique potential that books have to dissiminate spiritual and magical knowledge, and more.

We also discuss the unique possibilities and potentialities embedded and embodied within magic itself, as well as the interesting debates within the advanced/in-depth witchcraft space itself, that much of witchy social media seems to not be aware of - as well as the politics of witchcraft past and present, including the negative impacts of things such as the woke mind virus, ignorant polarization, balkanization, purity politics, grievance politics, victimhood culture, and mass cancellations both within magical communities and outside of them.

"Most people aren't actually witches - most people are just cosplayers." A crucial and nuanced conversation not to be missed!

    2026/06/29
In this episode, Nick from The Occult Rejects comes back on the show! We discuss the interesting relationship between science and magic, and how there's a lot of scientific influence within magic, and vice versa. We discuss how you don't have to pick one or the other, and how magic and alchemy were deeply influential in the development of science over the last few hundred years.

  • 12. Manipulation in Spiritual Communities and the Desire for Belonging with Sara Ashley The Practical Astrologer
    2026/06/15
In this episode of The Heal and Harm Show, I chat with astrologer Sara Ashley about her experiences with what she calls a 'handler' in the astrological and spiritual community, including in business relationships and friendships. Manipulation is oddly common in many spiritual communities, and in this episode we get into the depths of what that looks like and how to avoid it. We also talk about the performative 'reality show' vibes of many people on social media.

  • 11. Creativity Rituals, Living Well, and Being Your Own Spiritual Authority with Theresa Reed The Tarot Lady
    2026/06/01
In my second episode with The Tarot Lady Theresa Reed, we discuss the importance of taking responsibility for our own lives, and connecting with our personal agency, no matter what our astrology or tarot says. We have free will, and don’t have to give into sadness and fatalism. We talk about the importance of claiming our own spiritual authority over our own life, rather than giving into fear mongering.

We talk about how we both have Saturn in the fifth house (and what that means), and how we structure our creative processes, and what our creative routines are.

A very prolific writer, Theresa talks about how she gets her ideas, how she decides which book to write next, creative blocks, and how feeling free and peaceful fuels creative expression. We also talk about the importance of discernment, and the balance between passivity and activity, and how being well rounded leads to a good life.

  • 10. Artificial Intelligence, Animism, and the Expansion of Consciousness with Matt Rouse
    2026/05/18
In this episode of The Heal and Harm Show, I chat with digital marketer, author, and chicken farmer Matt Rouse. We discuss the rise of artificial intelligence, the role of (and rising lack of) media literacy, and the resurgence of physical and craft-based hobbies and practices such as farming or crochet.

Matt explains what AI hallucinations are, how chatbots work and think (and what their limitations are), AI guardrails (and lack thereof), the limitations of artificial intelligence, and what AI is best used for (and also where it falls short and is harmful).

In an era where many people use AI chatbots as therapists, life coaches, and surrogate romantic partners, it’s important to examine the limitations of AI and where it can cause harm rather than help us and augment our lives in a positive way.

This conversation is a little different and definitely philosophical - a must listen, especially if you’re curious to learn more about artificial intelligence and how it might relate to animism, consciousness, and spirituality. If we take animism seriously, what could be at stake if we take AI seriously? If something has a survival instinct, does it count as conscious?
