Welcome to The GreenWave Podcast by Synergy International. We launched this pod to reach a wider audience of people curious about global sustainability. I’m your weekly host, SYNI, and I’ll be guiding you through our sometimes idiosyncratic takes on the fast-paced developments shaping the sustainable energy world. In this podcast, we delve into sustainability challenges facing our planet, providing perspective from the front lines of project development, ranging from decarbonising heavy industry to conserving threatened ecosystems. We believe that sustainable development and finance, far from being a niche specialty, stands at the heart of modern progress.Copyright 2024 All rights reserved. 地球科学 科学 経済学

  • The GreenWave Podcast Episode 78: The Land Is The Flag - American Conservation at 250
    2026/07/04

Join SYNI, your hostess who only does above replacement-value content, for today’s pod is titled “The Land Is the Flag.” America is 250 years old today, and one of its finest inheritances is the way a young, restless, expanding republic learned to love its land. The story runs through mountains, forests, rivers, prairies, deserts, wetlands, seashores, wildlife refuges, national parks and local trails. It is a story of public land held for public life, and it gives American patriotism some of its deepest colour. The flag means more when it is tied to the land beneath it. SYNI takes you through a national history of American conservation achievements. Yet modern truths must also be told. The US has this extraordinary conservation inheritance, and yet current federal energy policy is treating major sustainable energy projects as targets in a political war. Some $2.7 billion of US taxpayer money is being paid to companies not to build sustainable projects. Where are the goons for DOGE on this one? The country that created the national park idea is now paying to cancel clean energy projects off its own coasts, while calling the exercise energy strength. It is a strange form of patriotism that celebrates the land and then weakens the tools needed to protect it from a hotter, more volatile climate.

  • The GreenWave Podcast by Synergy International Episode 77: Europe’s Missing Electricity Motorways
    2026/06/28

Join SYNI, your above replacement-value hostess, for Episode 77 titled “Europe’s Missing Electricity Motorways.” Europe has reached the point where the clean energy argument is moving from targets to wires. The European Commission says the continent needs around €584bn of investment in electricity grids by 2030. That figure should stop anyone in the energy market mid-coffee, because it tells us something blunt: Europe has built renewable generation faster than the infrastructure needed to move the power, and the cost of that delay is now landing in consumer bills, curtailment payments, grid congestion, industrial uncertainty and a growing queue of projects waiting for a connection. Europe wants clean, cheap, secure industrial power. Those goals can sit together only if the grid is treated as the central asset of the transition. The next decade will show who understood the electricity economy properly. Countries that build the wires will attract the factories, the data centres, the electrified industry and the long-term offtake. Enjoy!

  • The GreenWave Podcast by Synergy International Episode 76: The Second Climate Ledger - Counting Carbon While Funding Change
    2026/06/21

Join SYNI, your hostess who continues to push for above replacement-value content while you're relaxing on the beach, for our podcast Episode 76: The Second Climate Ledger: Counting Carbon While Funding Change. For years, governments, companies, lenders and development banks have treated the carbon ledger as the central machine of climate action. Count the emissions, assign the tonnes, buy the certificates, report the reduction, and let the spreadsheet do the heavy moral lifting. Now that machine is starting to creak, because the atmosphere counts chemistry while finance counts claims, and those two ledgers are not the same thing. SYNI argues for the need of a "second ledger" that measures the real-world transmission required to tackle climate change. The live debate now sits around the institutional machinery built on top of the climate physics. We now invite you to listen and enjoy!
