In this episode, Lisa explores a hard but necessary question: Why is the corporate church so uncomfortable with hearing about your suffering?
Many believers are still walking through chronic pain, trauma, loss, or unanswered prayers. But when that suffering doesn’t resolve quickly or turn into a clean testimony, it often makes people uneasy. And when they try to speak about it, the room often grows tense. The conversation shifts. The advice comes quickly. The discomfort is palpable.
Lisa shares her own experience and unpacks two core reasons why she believes this happens.
This isn’t an attack. It’s an invitation. If we cannot make room for suffering, we will never truly understand compassion.
This isn’t criticism for the sake of it. Lisa doesn't claim to have an answer to fix this issue, but maybe it’s a call to maturity. If the church cannot sit with suffering, how it fully embody compassion.
