“בְּנִי בְכֹרִי יִשְׂרָאֵל — My son, My firstborn, Yisroel.”

In this episode we confront one of the foundations of Pesach and of Jewish existence itself: Hashem runs the world with hashgacha pratis, and the Jewish people were chosen to bring His presence into it. But living with that knowledge isn’t easy. Some souls move through life calm and steady. Others live like they’re being dragged through fire — jumping from idea to idea, faith to doubt, hope to despair. Those tortured souls often feel like they’ve thrown themselves into kaf hakelah, spinning between belief and disbelief.

That’s why emunah cannot be just a concept. It’s a daily dose. Something that must be anchored again and again before it slips through your fingers. Because even when you can’t feel it, even when everything inside you feels shattered, the deepest point of your nefesh is still a chelek Elokai mimaal — a piece of the Divine itself.

And down there, your emunah is still pure.

Pesach wasn’t just a jailbreak from Egypt. It was a war against avodah zarah—and the first weapon was shockingly simple: take the Egyptian god, the lamb, and tie it to your bed. Four days staring at it. Four days dismantling the lie. And in each generation we need to find the avoda zarah for that generation and tie it and prepare it for slaughter.

We open with הא לחמא עניא, the bread of poverty, because faith doesn’t grow in comfort. It grows when a people remember who carried them out of the mud of חומר ולבנים.

Along the way we talk about the dangerous difference between wealthy people and rich people and how the sickness of rich people has wounded our community since Kamtza and Bar Kamtza.

Pesach isn’t just about telling a story. Chazal say something far more dangerous: “כל המרבה לספר ביציאת מצרים הרי זה משובח” — the more a person tells the story of the Exodus, the greater he is. Why? Because Yetziyas Mitzrayim is not history. It is the forge where a Jew builds emunah. Torah learning matters. Mitzvos matter. But when life turns dark and the ground shakes, the only thing that holds a man upright is the foundation beneath everything — emunah and bitachon.

And that foundation is never finished. Emunah is not a switch you flip once and move on. It is a ladder that climbs forever. Every time you retell Yetziyas Mitzrayim you are chiseling deeper into that foundation, strengthening the muscle that carried our fathers out of Egypt and will carry us to the final redemption. The more you speak about it, the stronger you become.
