このコンテンツについて

Sweden’s future is becoming increasingly uncertain as disruptive technologies transform the nature of business and work while global challenges, such as climate change and migration, hover on the horizon, threatening societal progress. Full information about the future is never available, yet we can deal with uncertainty by trying to make sense of and understand what the future might be like before we take decisions and act. The challenge is that even though we all think about the future every day, we tend to do so individually and in a more unconscious way. With these podcasts, we hope to encourage individuals in Sweden and across the globe to actively contribute to a discussion of how to create a more socially, economically, and environmentally sustainable future. This podcast show is relevant both for professionals and higher education students as the subject is a timely one and of growing importance. While the focus is Sweden, the content is relevant for other areas of the world as well.

This podcast show is produced by Professor Robin Teigland, Management of Digitalization, at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden as a project within her course - Leading in a Digital World, for third year MSc Industrial Engineering and Economics students. More information on Professor Teigland is here: https://www.chalmers.se/en/persons/teigland/.

The purpose of the podcast project is to foster a digital and sustainable mindset such that we can all make better informed decisions to create the future we would like to experience. To fulfill this purpose, the students in groups created podcasts designed to enable targeted audiences and the general public to gain a better understanding of how digitalization and disruptive technologies are already ”disrupting” and may further disrupt the Sweden of tomorrow as well as how these technologies may or may not pave the path towards a more sustainable future across a number of industries.

To create the podcast, students were tasked with conducting secondary research as well as interviewing at least seven people: one person within each area of the PESTEL framework, for a minimum of 6 interviews, in addition to one researcher at Chalmers or at another research institution.

Will future education take place through VR-classrooms? Does blockchain technology have the potential to make life a bit easier for students who want to design their own educational path? Is there any reason to believe that a large portion of education will shift from universities to companies? Or will everything remain the same as it has been for the past years? All of this, and a bit more, is discussed in this standalone podcast episode about how technology may shape the future of education.
