概要
In the spring of 1820, Joseph Smith prayed in a grove of trees near his home in New York, seeking guidance about religion. In what Latter-day Saints call the First Vision, he reported seeing God the Father and Jesus Christ appear to him in a pillar of light, with the Father introducing the Son and instructing Joseph to “hear Him.” This experience is understood by members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as the beginning of the Restoration of the gospel and a powerful example that God hears and answers sincere prayers.
