Welcome to Episode 8 of the Face Ripper Records Podcast! Today we're revisiting a UK black metal project I reacted to a year ago: the brilliant Aldorfrea. This time, they're back with their brand-new track, "Cheirosiphon."

Before hitting play, I had to look up the title, and it turns out every day is a school day! A Cheirosiphon was a Byzantine-era portable flamethrower used to project liquid fire. With that image in mind, I dived into a track that builds from a tribal, battle-drum intro into a suspenseful, twisty, and ferocious black metal assault.
