  • Ep. 11: I Saw Four Raised from the Dead… But Why Not Five?
    2025/09/17

    Send us a text

What happens when you’ve seen God move in undeniable ways… and then He doesn’t?

In this powerful and personal episode of The Elevation Room, gospel artist, comedian, and pastor Donnie Bolden Jr. opens up about his extraordinary childhood encounter with God, the prophetic word spoken over him at just five years old, and the winding journey through calling, purpose, and platform.

But the real heart of the conversation comes when Donnie vulnerably shares about the death of his mother in 2017—a woman he watched lay hands and see four people raised from the dead. In one of the most emotional stories we've had on the podcast, Donnie unpacks the faith crisis that followed, the pain of unanswered prayers, and the gentle way God restored his heart with a simple message: “Even in your doubt, I still love you.”

This episode will bless anyone who’s:

    • wrestled with disappointment in faith,
    • questioned God’s silence, or
    • needed a reminder that miracles don’t always look like what we expect.

    💬 You’ll hear about:

    • Donnie’s early musical calling and ministry roots
    • Lessons from grief, legacy, and prayer
    • Balancing talent, timing, and trust
    • God’s ability to restore your belief when it feels broken

In this episode, I sit down with Aaron Phillips—husband, dad, entrepreneur, and former UFC fighter—for a conversation about the tension between chasing your biggest dreams and faithfully showing up for the life right in front of you.

Aaron opens up about what it was like to build a growing gym while training for a shot at the UFC—and how a series of injuries ultimately led him to step back from the fighting world. But rather than viewing it as failure, Aaron shares how that shift helped him embrace a new identity, one rooted not in performance, but in purpose.

We talk about redefining success, learning the importance of family, and how to keep moving forward when God’s plans look different from your own.

If you’ve ever had to pivot from a passion or felt the tension of holding multiple callings—this conversation will hit home.

    Send us a text

In this powerful episode, I sit down with my friend Christian Robertson, whose life almost ended before it ever began.

Christian shares his journey from being the child doctors said wouldn't survive or at best, would be dependent his whole life—to growing up in a home marked by addiction, absence, and instability—and how he later found restoration, identity, and healing.

    We talk candidly about:

    • The miraculous way God intervened before he was even born
    • What it’s like to grow up with an absent parent and still fight to understand your worth
    • The pain of loss and the long road of grief after a family tragedy
    • Therapy, healing, and the courage it takes to unpack your story
    • What inner healing really looks like as a man and a believer

Whether you've wrestled with your own past, struggled to feel like you're enough, or are trying to hold onto hope in a dark season—you'll find a lot to relate to here.

This isn’t just a testimony. It’s a reminder that God’s grace reaches back further than we realize and can rewrite every chapter.

This episode is about so much more than a job rejection. It’s about the identity crisis that happens when life doesn’t go as planned—and how performance, pressure, and pain can cloud our view of who we truly are.

I share openly about wrestling with self-worth, questioning if I really believe God is faithful, and the journey of untangling what we do from who we are.

If you’ve ever wondered where God is in the middle of your doubts or felt like you’re not enough, this one’s for you.

And for the first time, I introduce an acronym that helped me reframe it all—F.O.R.T.

  • Ep 7: Turning Strain into Strength: A Journey of Dirt, Design, and the Divine
    2025/07/23

    Send us a text

Ever faced an obstacle so overwhelming it seemed designed to make you quit? In this heartfelt conversation with James and Tiffany Bear, we journey through their remarkable story of building Le Coiffeur salon against what seemed like impossible odds.

The Bears share how a piece of property Tiffany initially disliked became the clear vision for her salon during the pandemic. What follows is a tale that would test the resilience of even the strongest couples – from deceptive contractors to blocked phone numbers, from construction standstills to a nearly-finished building they legally couldn't use. When their second builder abandoned the 90% completed project after closing permits without final inspections, they were left with a fully-funded building they couldn't occupy.

"Every time I was like 'Babe, it's just getting to be so much money, so much stress, so much pressure,' he's like, every single time without fail: 'Do it the way you want it,'" Tiffany recalls of James' unwavering support despite being offshore for months at a time during construction. Their story reveals how obstacles often confirm you're on the right path rather than indicating a wrong turn.

What began as Tiffany's desire for a peaceful workplace has transformed into an unexpected ministry. "She opened the front door and couldn't even get in far enough to close it... and said 'Ministry is going to happen in this place,'" Tiffany shares about a friend's prophetic words upon first seeing the completed salon.

This episode is a masterclass in perseverance, partnership, and faith when the path forward seems impossible. Listen now and be encouraged that your own obstacles might just be confirmation you're exactly where you need to be.
