    2026/03/08
It was another busy week across the cannabis industry, with developments spanning policy, corporate earnings, and scientific research. In this episode of TDR Weekly Recap presented by frepouch.com, host Shadd Dales breaks down the most important stories shaping the sector right now.The week began with a major legal development at the U.S. Supreme Court, where justices heard oral arguments in U.S. vs. Hemani, the case challenging the federal prohibition on firearm ownership for cannabis users under Section 922(g)(3). Several justices appeared skeptical of the government’s position, especially as federal cannabis policy continues to evolve. At the same time, speculation around federal rescheduling intensified following fresh reporting out of Washington involving Attorney General Pam Bondi and the pace of the process. On the business side, earnings season continued with NewLake Capital Partners (OTCQX: NLCP) and Cresco Labs (CSE: CL) (OTCQX: CRLBF) both reporting results. NewLake once again highlighted balance sheet strength and steady dividends, while Cresco posted improving margins and stronger cash generation despite non-cash impairment charges.Additional corporate headlines included product innovation from Organigram Holdings (NASDAQ: OGI) (TSX: OGI), retail expansion in Ohio from Vext Science (CSE: VEXT) (OTCQX: VEXTF), and board changes at High Tide (NASDAQ: HITI) (TSXV: HITI) as the company continues expanding globally. With rescheduling, Farm Bill negotiations, and earnings all moving at once, the cannabis sector remains in a critical stretch.#CannabisNews #CannabisIndustry #CannabisRescheduling #CannabisStocks #CannabisPolicy #CannabisEarnings #CannabisInvesting #CannabisResearch #CannabisWeekly #TDRWeeklyRecapWant to see more Cannabis Reform videos?🎬 • Would Bondi’s Removal Stop Rescheduling? |... 🎬 • Why Rescheduling Alone Won’t Fix Cannabis ... 🎬 • Massachusetts Voters Reject Cannabis Rollb... 🎬 • Can Cannabis Rescheduling Happen During Wa... • Would Bondi’s Removal Stop Rescheduling? | TDR Cannabis in 5
    2026/03/07
Rumors circulating in Washington have raised a new question for the cannabis industry: what would happen to federal cannabis rescheduling if Pam Bondi were removed from office? In this episode of TDR Cannabis in Five powered by Flowhub, host Shadd Dales breaks down how the federal rescheduling process actually works and why a leadership change at the United States Department of Justice would not stop the rule from moving forward.Cannabis rescheduling is governed by the Controlled Substances Act and involves multiple federal institutions, including the Drug Enforcement Administration and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Once the administrative rulemaking process is underway, it becomes institutional rather than dependent on any single political figure.Even if the Attorney General were replaced, the rule could still be signed and transmitted to the Office of the Federal Register by an acting attorney general. The discussion comes as speculation grows around potential federal cannabis reform under Donald Trump, alongside market commentary from investor Doug Kass, who recently highlighted the AdvisorShares Pure US Cannabis ETF as a trade idea amid expectations of a possible rescheduling announcement. While timing may still shift slightly depending on where the rule sits in the federal pipeline, the broader takeaway remains the same: cannabis rescheduling is driven by the rulemaking process itself, not by a single individual.#CannabisRescheduling #CannabisPolicy #ScheduleIII #CannabisIndustry #CannabisInvesting #CannabisNews #MSOS #CannabisReform #FederalCannabis #TDRCannabisWant to see more Cannabis Reform videos?🎬 • Why Rescheduling Alone Won’t Fix Cannabis ... 🎬 • Massachusetts Voters Reject Cannabis Rollb... 🎬 • Can Cannabis Rescheduling Happen During Wa... 🎬 • Federal Hemp Ban: What’s Actually Targeted... • Congress Advances Farm Bill Without Hemp THC Delay | TDR Cannabis in 5
    2026/03/06
Congress has advanced a new version of the U.S. Farm Bill that includes updated hemp provisions, but notably lawmakers did not include the delay hemp stakeholders were requesting for a federal THC ban. That decision could have major consequences for the fast-growing hemp-derived cannabinoid market. In this episode of TDR Cannabis in Five presented by Flowhub, host Shadd Dales breaks down what just happened in Washington and why it matters for both the hemp industry and the broader cannabis sector. The issue traces back to the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018, which legalized hemp federally by defining it as cannabis containing less than 0.3% delta-9 THC. While the law removed hemp from the Controlled Substances Act, it also created what many now refer to as the “hemp loophole.”Because the legislation focused only on delta-9 THC, companies were able to sell intoxicating hemp-derived cannabinoids such as delta-8 THC and high-THCA products. Over time, that loophole helped create a multi-billion-dollar hemp cannabinoid market sold across smoke shops, convenience stores and online retailers nationwide. Now lawmakers are moving to tighten those rules by shifting to a “total THC” standard, which would count all forms of THC rather than just delta-9.At the same time, Washington is moving closer to federal cannabis rescheduling under the Controlled Substances Act.With hemp regulation and marijuana policy reform unfolding simultaneously, the next phase of cannabis regulation in the United States could be shaped by how these two policy tracks intersect.#CannabisNews #FarmBill #HempIndustry #CannabisPolicy #THCBan #CannabisRegulation #CannabisReform #Delta8 #CannabisIndustry #TDRCannabisWant to see more Cannabis Reform videos?🎬 • Why Rescheduling Alone Won’t Fix Cannabis ... 🎬 • Massachusetts Voters Reject Cannabis Rollb... 🎬 • Can Cannabis Rescheduling Happen During Wa... 🎬 • Federal Hemp Ban: What’s Actually Targeted... • What's Really Happening With Cannabis ETF MSOS?
    2026/03/06
A lot of cannabis investors still haven’t fully recovered from the December 18 pullback. Since then, the sector has struggled to regain momentum and many traders watching the tape believe something unusual has been happening around the MSOS ETF, especially around option expiries and large flow days. Whether it’s heavy volume without price movement, short interest shifting between MSOS and MSOX, or cannabis stocks moving together across the board, the questions from investors keep piling up.Today on Trade To Black presented by Flowhub, host Shadd Dales is teeing up a big conversation with Dan Ahrens of AdvisorShares, the portfolio manager behind the AdvisorShares Pure US Cannabis ETF (MSOS). The interview goes live at 4 PM Eastern, and the goal is simple: get answers to the questions investors have been asking for months.Among the topics we’ll cover:• Are institutions quietly positioning in cannabis again?• Why does MSOS sometimes trade heavy volume with little price movement?• What role do short sellers and options activity play in the sector’s volatility?• How does the ETF creation process actually work?• And what would it take to stabilize cannabis markets going forward? With cannabis reform still looming and the market structure under the microscope, this conversation should give investors a clearer picture of what’s really happening behind the scenes.#CannabisStocks #MSOS #CannabisInvesting #AdvisorShares #CannabisMarket #CannabisETF #CannabisIndustry #CannabisReform #StockMarket #TradeToBlackWant to see more Cannabis Reform videos?🎬 • Why Rescheduling Alone Won’t Fix Cannabis ... 🎬 • Massachusetts Voters Reject Cannabis Rollb... 🎬 • Can Cannabis Rescheduling Happen During Wa... 🎬 • Federal Hemp Ban: What’s Actually Targeted... • Why Rescheduling Alone Won’t Fix Cannabis | TDR Cannabis in 5
    2026/03/05
A new op-ed published in Marijuana Moment is raising questions about the future of the U.S. cannabis industry. Written by Gennaro Luce and Matthew Myro Rothman, the piece argues that even if the federal government moves cannabis from Schedule I to Schedule III under the Controlled Substances Act, that change alone may not be enough to stabilize the industry long-term.In this episode of TDR Cannabis in Five, host Shadd Dales walks through the argument presented in the op-ed and explains why healthcare integration may ultimately determine the long-term success of the cannabis industry. While rescheduling could eliminate the tax burden created by Internal Revenue Code Section 280E—a major financial hurdle for cannabis companies—the authors argue that the real structural issue lies elsewhere.Unlike traditional pharmaceuticals, medical cannabis is rarely covered by insurance plans, meaning most patients must pay out of pocket. According to the authors, without insurance reimbursement and deeper integration into the healthcare system, cannabis could struggle to reach the same level of legitimacy and accessibility as conventional medicine. With federal rescheduling potentially on the horizon under the Donald Trump administration, the conversation about what comes next for cannabis policy is becoming increasingly important. The question now isn’t just whether cannabis will be rescheduled—it’s whether the healthcare system will eventually treat it like medicine.#CannabisIndustry #CannabisRescheduling #ScheduleIII #CannabisPolicy #MedicalCannabis #CannabisReform #CannabisInvesting #CannabisHealthcare #CannabisNews #TDRCannabisWant to see more Cannabis Reform videos?🎬 • Massachusetts Voters Reject Cannabis Rollb... 🎬 • Can Cannabis Rescheduling Happen During Wa... 🎬 • Federal Hemp Ban: What’s Actually Targeted... 🎬 • Virginia Adult-Use Sales Finally Near | TD... • The Most Important Cannabis Stats of 2026
    2026/03/04
In the latest episode of Trade To Black presented by Flowhub, host Shadd Dales and Anthony Varrell break down the latest developments emerging from today’s Farm Bill hearing in Washington, where lawmakers are debating how hemp and cannabis policy could be redefined moving forward. There’s a lot riding on what happens in this bill on how hemp-derived cannabinoids will be regulated. Then we turn to Michigan, where the cannabis market is dealing with growing political pushback. Eight bipartisan state senators are now moving to repeal the state’s newly implemented 24% cannabis wholesale tax, which was layered on top of the existing excise and sales taxes. Adam Stettner, CEO of FundCanna joins us to outline that tax was projected to generate roughly $421 million annually, but early numbers suggest operators are already feeling the pressure.January dispensary sales fell 8.3% year-over-year, even as product volume reached record highs — a clear sign that operators are selling more cannabis for less money in one of the most competitive markets in the country. In segment two, Flowhub CEO Kyle Sherman joins the podcast to highlight some key industry statistics, including the fact that 47% of Americans have tried cannabis, adult-use cannabis is now legal in 24 states, and the U.S. cannabis industry is expected to reach nearly $47 billion in 2026.Like, subscribe and leave your comments!#CannabisIndustry, #FarmBill, #CannabisPolicy, #MichiganCannabis, #CannabisTaxes, #CannabisEconomy, #CannabisBusiness, #CannabisMarket, #CannabisNews, #CannabisInvestingWant to see more Cannabis Reform videos?🎬 • Massachusetts Voters Reject Cannabis Rollb... 🎬 • Can Cannabis Rescheduling Happen During Wa... 🎬 • Federal Hemp Ban: What’s Actually Targeted... 🎬 • Virginia Adult-Use Sales Finally Near | TD... • Massachusetts Voters Reject Cannabis Rollback | TDR Cannabis in 5
    2026/03/04
Welcome back to TDR Cannabis in Five delivered by FrePouch.com with host Shadd Dales.Massachusetts has been raising eyebrows in recent months after a proposal surfaced that would effectively roll back legal marijuana sales in the state. But the latest polling data suggests the outcome may already be clear: voters overwhelmingly oppose the idea of reversing legalization.A new statewide poll shows roughly two-thirds of Massachusetts voters oppose the ballot initiative that would repeal legal cannabis sales, while only about 20 percent support it. The numbers reinforce what many in the cannabis industry have argued for years — once regulated markets are established, public appetite for reversal tends to disappear.Massachusetts legalized adult-use cannabis in 2016, and since then the market has generated billions in legal sales, hundreds of millions in tax revenue, and thousands of jobs across the state. The controversy surrounding the proposal has also intensified after surveys suggested that many residents who signed the petition may not have realized the measure was aimed at repealing legal marijuana sales. Some respondents said the petition was framed around unrelated issues such as housing or public safety.Regardless of how the initiative reached this stage procedurally, the broader takeaway appears clear.Nearly a decade after legalization, Massachusetts voters show little interest in turning the clock back on the regulated cannabis market.#MassachusettsCannabis #CannabisLegalization, #CannabisPolicy, #CannabisIndustry, #CannabisNews, #AdultUseCannabis, #CannabisMarket, #CannabisReform, #CannabisBusiness, #CannabisInvestingWant to see more Cannabis Reform videos?🎬 • Can Cannabis Rescheduling Happen During Wa... 🎬 • Federal Hemp Ban: What’s Actually Targeted... 🎬 • Virginia Adult-Use Sales Finally Near | TD... 🎬 • Hemp THC Delay Won’t Get A Vote | TDR Cann... • Cannabis Banking Grows As Reform Looms
    2026/03/04
On the latest episode of Trade To Black presented by Flowhub, host Shadd Dales and Anthony Varrell sit down with the CEO of Safe Harbor Financial (NASDAQ: SHFS) to break down the surge of cannabis banking in emerging markets over the past year. Safe Harbor reported a 29% year-over-year increase in average deposit balances across emerging U.S. markets. Those markets now account for 31% of total deposits. The growth came from more than 100 new customer accounts and expanding operators in states like New York, Ohio, Delaware, Minnesota and Florida. In the second segment, the conversation switches to the Supreme Court, where justices appeared skeptical of the federal government’s defense of banning marijuana users from owning firearms — especially as cannabis rescheduling potentially shifts to Schedule III.Plus, MariMed Inc. (CSE: MRMD) (OTCQX: MRMD) restructured its balance sheet by extending maturities by more than four years, Also, Massachusetts voters pushing back strongly against efforts to repeal adult-use legalization, and new data showing nearly 10 million Americans microdosed psychedelics in 2025.Log on and leave your comments!
