Season 1: Understanding the Pain
Have you always been the one everyone could count on?
The one who held everything together, supported everyone else, and kept going—even when you were falling apart inside?
For many of us, being “the strong one” wasn’t a choice. It became a role we learned early in life. We became caregivers, peacemakers, problem-solvers, and protectors, often believing our own needs had to come last.
In this episode of Healing Out Loud, I share my own journey of carrying the weight of responsibility through parental abandonment, difficult relationships, single motherhood, and years of believing I had to handle everything on my own.
Together, we’ll explore the hidden cost of always being strong, why asking for help can feel so uncomfortable, and how healing begins when we give ourselves permission to acknowledge our own needs with compassion.
If you’ve ever felt exhausted from carrying the weight of everyone else, this conversation is for you.
✨ Reflection Questions
As you reflect on today’s episode, consider these questions:
• When did you first learn that you had to be the strong one?
• How has always being strong affected your emotional well-being and your relationships?
• What is one small way you can begin showing yourself the same compassion you so freely offer to others?
There are no right or wrong answers. Simply notice what comes up with curiosity and compassion. Healing begins with awareness.
