One of my favorite movies growing up were the Rocky movies. In Rocky 1 and 2, they were underdog stories as an improbable journeyman fighter, Rock gets a chance to fight the champion of the world, Apollo Creed. In Rocky 3 however, it's a "comeback" story, as Rocky is now a seasoned Champion and fights and loses to Clubber Lang. It looks like Rocky is past his prime and can never beat Clubber Lang, so he's faced with the decision, does he quit? Or does he stay in the fight and try to make a comeback?
