概要

A small town in upstate New York, late October 2021. The night the seventh caller in a month reported something moving in the screen of the old Silver Lake Drive-In. Luna takes the call from a teenager named Riley, who says she and her friends drove out to the ruins on a dare. Riley's voice on the line is breathless, not scared at first—more awed, like she can't believe what she's seeing. But then the pitch changes. The lights of the screen flicker on, though the place has been dead since the 90s. And Riley describes the images that start to play: not a movie, but a loop of the previous six callers—each one, Luna realizes, from the same spot, same abandoned lot, same night of the year. The horror isn't in the pictures. It's in the pattern. And in what Luna hears next: her own voice, from a call she doesn't remember making, telling someone named Riley to stay on the line.
