Four women found wrapped in burlap on Long Island's Ocean Parkway in December 2010. The wrapping was consistent across all four victims. The investigation that followed took thirteen years to produce an arrest. Rex Heuermann — a Manhattan architect commuting from a Long Island suburb — was arrested in July 2023 after digital forensics, cell tower records, and DNA from discarded pizza crust connected him to the burlap wrapping on the Gilgo Four victims.
