In Episode 4, we sit down with two of the most electric forces behind Cherry Creek's spirit this year, senior Layne Mills and junior Mike Wehrle. Along with fellow manager Channing Walter, these two went all in as managers of the Field Hockey team this season, taking their roles to another level and becoming an integral part of the championship run.

Layne and Mike talk about what it meant to support the team daily, the behind-the-scenes responsibilities no one sees, and how their energy came alive on the biggest stage, especially during the second half of the state title game where their sideline hype became a secret weapon.

Beyond field hockey, both are massive drivers of school spirit. They’re fixtures in the student section, spirit leaders who’ve helped elevate the atmosphere at Creek this fall. Their versatility is unreal, Layne just committed to play Division I lacrosse at Utah, and Mike is a varsity distance runner on the track team and serves as Student Body Activities Coordinator.

After a month-long hiatus as spring sports took off—plus Mr. Weiss getting a little sidetracked and Mr. Knoeckel trying to recover from a rough North Carolina basketball season—The Bruin Pod is back and fired up to finish the school year strong! In this episode, we sit down with Varsity Lacrosse captains Ollie Nolting and Owen Corsi. These longtime teammates and friends bring insight into the early success of this year’s Bruin squad and what it’ll take to make a run at a state title. Fresh off a strong spring break trip, their leadership and chemistry are setting the tone for a focused and determined team. In the final episode of the semester, The Bruin Pod welcomes a very special guest, Principal Silva! Join us as we reflect on an incredible first semester at Cherry Creek High School. Principal Silva shares what he's most proud of here at Creek, what inspired his journey into education, and his path to becoming a principal. With 16 years of leadership experience, he opens up about how the Creek community continues to inspire him—not only as an educator but also as a parent. We also sprinkle in some holiday cheer as we wrap up the semester.

As always, Weiss kicks things off with Knoeckel, catching up on big news for his beloved UNC Tar Heels—this time, surprisingly about their football program. Knoeckel’s shoulder is continuing to improve, though Weiss might’ve momentarily forgotten and caused him a bit of pain. The banter is still in full swing as they set the stage for a great conversation with Principal Silva.
