Are the tween years coming on fast?

Are you wondering how to talk with your daughter about puberty, body image, friendships, and boys?

Are you considering how to be the first and most trusted voice in her life and thinking, “When do I talk to her about the birds and the bees… and do I really have to talk about porn?”

I get it. You want to keep her little as long as possible—and be the safe place she comes back to again and again. But life is busy. You’re juggling a million things, and it feels harder and harder to carve out time to hear God’s heart and stay closely connected before outside influences get louder.

Hi, I’m Cait—a mom in the thick of it with you—raising little surfer girls by the beach, where so many of my hours are spent cleaning up wave after wave of sand, glitter, and big emotions.

I used to feel that quiet pressure to “get this right.” But God gently reminds me every day that motherhood isn’t like that. It’s an art where we cultivate, and He brings the growth.

On The Art of Raising Daughters, we lean in together to redeem the time we’ve been given—so we can be the moms we truly mean to be in the midst of the swirl.

We can’t control every outcome, and we may never fully clean up all the sand and glitter—but we can nurture, cultivate, and lead our daughters toward wholeness.

If you’re longing to raise a daughter who knows her worth, embraces God’s good design for females created in His image, and navigates these tween years with wisdom and clarity – I’m so glad we’ve found each other.

Let’s ground ourselves in God’s design for womanhood and let Jesus do a healing work in us - so that when she’s ready, we’re ready.

Episode 3 // Three Simple Ways to Stay Connected to Your Daughter This Summer

Summer has a way of flying by.

Between camps, vacations, beach days, and all the beautiful chaos, it’s easy to feel like the season slips through our fingers before we’ve had a chance to truly enjoy it.

In this episode, I share a word picture that has been encouraging my own heart: our homes are like gardens entrusted to our care, and our daughters are learning to cultivate beautiful lives alongside us. Together, we’ll explore three simple rhythms that can help keep the path between your heart and your daughter’s heart well worn this summer.

In This Episode You’ll Discover: • Why connection is the soil where healthy relationships grow. • How a simple morning rhythm can anchor your family’s day. • Why shared play is still one of the best ways to connect with your tween. • The power of a bedtime blessing and ending each day with peace and presence.

    This Week’s Challenge

Choose one intentional way to connect with your daughter each day this week.

Maybe it’s gathering for breakfast, jumping in the pool together, taking a walk, or sitting on the edge of her bed for an extra ten minutes before lights out.

Remember, we only get so many summers. Let’s redeem the time we’ve been given, one hopeful conversation at a time.

I’d love to continue the conversation!

Come say hello on Instagram @caitlin.theobald and let me know: Which of these three rhythms are you going to try first this summer—morning connection, play, or bedtime blessing?

If this episode encouraged you, I’d be so grateful if you would follow the podcast, leave a review, and share it with a friend. Your support helps more moms discover The Art of Raising Daughters and join the conversation.

Thank you for listening, and I’ll see you next week!

  • Are You Cultivating or Controlling? The Freedom-Filled Way to Nurture Your Daughter’s Faith
    2026/06/02

Are you cultivating your daughter, or are you trying to control outcomes that belong to God?

In this episode of The Art of Raising Daughters, we’re exploring the freedom that comes when we embrace our role as cultivators rather than creators, sustainers, or saviors of our daughters.

Drawing from Psalm 104 and the imagery of a garden, we’ll discuss how God designed mothers to faithfully tend the soil while trusting Him for the growth.

    In this episode, you’ll learn:

    • Why fear often disguises itself as protection • The difference between cultivation and control • How trying to sustain what only God can sustain creates anxiety • Why confident leadership begins with trust in God’s design • How to prepare the soil of your daughter’s heart without carrying responsibility that belongs to God

When we stop trying to force fruit and start cultivating faithfully, we find the freedom to lead from a place of rest. This kind of leadership protects our daughters from manipulation, fear, and insecurity while creating an environment where faith can flourish.

    Scriptures referenced: • Psalm 104:10–15 • 1 Corinthians 3:6–7
