このコンテンツについて
This week, Debi is joined by special guest Dr. Krista Fabrick business and marketing professor Mesa community college, marketing consultant and business coach (Sam Oriza was out sick)
Debi and Krista discuss the growing concerns with the effects that use of AI can have on the brain and on the effects that screen time in general can have on young developing minds.
Just like many other things, AI is not inherently good or evil. It is a tool which can be both helpful and destructive. Krista and Debi discuss a recent study at MIT on the affects of ChatGPT on the brain. The results were shocking. Adult participants showed a marked decrease in their ability to think, reason and remember after using AI to perform tasks.
Krista and Debi also discussed the implications that AI has on education including the ease of having technology think for you, lessened attention spans, limited learning and more.
Finally they discuss the established and documented dangers of screen time on babies and toddlers. While the use of screens can be tempting and have immediate short term benefits of peace and quiet, there are longterm damages to emotional regulation, the ability to form connections and to learn. Screen time literally rewires young children's brains.
