We've all done it. We spot the tell-tale AI phrasing, screenshot it, post it with a face of disgust, and get a small hit of moral applause. But here's the uncomfortable part: the thing that put that post in front of us was also a machine. We handed over curation years ago without a single protest, and now we're staging a rebellion against authorship. In this episode, we dig into what we're calling the AI Performed Disgust Hypocrisy: not to defend the endless flood of generated garbage, which is real and is genuinely making the internet worse, but to ask why our disgust lands where it lands, and why it so rarely lands on the human-made content that wastes just as much of our lives. We look at why disgust is the worst possible tool for thinking, why some machine-made explanations are more useful than some human-made ones, what actually separates the harmless from the harmful, and why the question "who made this?" should be replaced with four better questions. There's a confession in here too, from someone who was making slop before machines could. This one gets uncomfortable in places, and it doesn't resolve into a clean answer, because there isn't one. There's a grey zone, and it's worth walking into with the lights on.
