    2026/06/23

What if faith isn't pretending everything is okay?

In this episode, we take a deep look at Hebrews 11 and discover that biblical faith is not positive thinking, emotional certainty, or pretending life isn't hard. Through the lives of Noah, Abraham, Sarah, Moses, and others, we'll see that faith is trusting God's character even when we don't fully understand His plans. Together, we'll learn that faithfulness isn't measured by outcomes- but by continued trust in a faithful God.

    Key Verses

    -Hebrews 11:1-40

    Cross References

    -Hebrews 10:35-39

    -Hebrews 12:1-3

    How to Study This Passage

As you read Hebrews 11, ask:

-Who is the author writing to?

-What is happening in Hebrews 10 before chapter 11 begins?

-How is faith defined in verse 1?

-What actions are connected to faith throughout the chapter?

-Why does the chapter shift from victory to suffering?

-What does this reveal about God's character?

-How does Hebrews 12 build on Hebrews 11?

    Reflection

-What circumstances am I struggling to trust God with?

  • S1E13- The Potter’s Field (The Potter, The Temple, and The Place Purchased for Strangers)
    2026/06/16

What if the most overlooked details in the story of Judas are actually the most important?

In this episode, we continue tracing the story of the thirty pieces of silver by exploring the potter, the temple, and the field purchased for strangers. Together, we'll discover why these details were included in Scripture, how they connect to Old Testament prophecy, and what they reveal about God's plan of redemption for outsiders.

    Key Verses

    -Matthew 27:3–10

    -Zechariah 11:12–13

    -Jeremiah 18:1–6

    -1 Peter 2:9–10

    How to Study This Passage

As you read Matthew 27 and the related passages, ask:

-Why does Matthew include the detail about the potter?

-Why is the temple specifically mentioned?

-What role does a potter play throughout Scripture?

-What did Jeremiah learn at the potter's house?

-Why was the field purchased with blood money?

-Why was the field designated for strangers?

-What repeated themes do you see throughout these passages?

-What do these details reveal about God's character?

-How does this story point to Christ and the Gospel?

    Reflection

Where have I felt like an outsider?

Do I believe God's redemption extends even to people like me?

What broken places in my life need to be placed in the Potter's hands?

How does this story change the way I view God's ability to redeem painful circumstances?

What does the potter's field teach me about God's heart for the overlooked and forgotten?

    Final Reminder

    Judas saw a field.

The religious leaders saw a place to bury strangers.

    But God saw something bigger.

A field purchased with the price of the rejected Shepherd.

    A place for outsiders.

A reminder that redemption was never meant for a select few.

Because the Gospel is the story of God bringing near those who were once far away.

In this episode, we walk through Genesis 2-3 and uncover what sin actually destroyed in the Garden-and why shame, hiding, and self-made coverings still affect us today. But we also trace the story forward to Christ, who stepped into our shame so we could stop hiding from God.
