  • Let's talk Sport Fisheries with Kanyan!

    In this episode, Sonja discusses sport fisheries with assistant fisheries biologist Kanyan Klein. 

    Kanyan obtained her bachelor's degree in wildlife sustaibablity and ecosystem sciences with double minors in fisheries and biology from Tarleton State University in 2020. While in undergrad Kanyan completed a summer internship with Texas Pro lakes Management in 2018. Following graduation she worked as a seasonal hatchery fisheries technician for Texas Parks and Wildlife at the TFFC Hatchery. She then returned to Tarleton State University and completed her MBA in 2021. 

    Kanyan's role at TPLM includes servicing lake management accounts located west of Fort WOrht and working directly with Steven on a daily basis. OUtside of TPLM Kanyan currnetly assits in the management of AFS habitat section social media and blog accounts, serves as an instructor and social media manager for Texas Brigades - Bass Brigade summer youth leadership camp, and provides social media management to Professional Angerl Gary Klein. Kanyan is a member of Texas Chapter of American Fisheries Society, Bass Brigade Board, and American Fisheries Sociaty Habitat Section.

  • Let's Talk Community Management with Lisa!

    In this episode, Sonja discusses with Lisa how she got into property management, what she loves about it, how she interacts with water, and her advice for community managers that are newer to water management. Lisa Sewell has been in HOA Community Management for 15 years, working her way up from an on-site self-managed community, to portfolio management of all types, experience with an on-site master planned and condominium experience, including director roles. She has her CMCA certification, completing her AMS at the end of the month, member of the Community Association Institute local chapter. She advocates for what is ethically right, and loves to educate and empower other managers in the industry to be their best selves.

  • Let's talk algae with Rick & Eli
