    21-year-old Joel Larson was walking through a popular gay cruising spot in Minneapolis, Minnesota around 11:30 in the evening on July 31, 1991, when he was killed by a bullet to the back. Only ten days later, 19-year-old Cord Draszt and 48-year-old former Minnesota State Senator John Chenoweth were shot at another gay hangout spot.     Alice Grant lived at Aidan House, a care home in Gateshead in Northeastern England. Due to her dementia and past strokes, she was dependent on the nursing staff for all her needs and could become frustrated with her predicament. Enter Alison Firth, a nurse with 16 years’ experience and a less than stellar job history. Alison didn’t like Alice; she required a lot of care and, frankly, Alison couldn’t be bothered, so she did the unthinkable: She gave Alice an overdose of Heminevrin and was confident that no one would suspect her. She was wrong. Unlike Alison, her colleagues actually cared about the patients, and they called the police.
