Today's episode features Dr. Marie Nubia-Feliciano as she discusses the importance of ethnic studies at all levels of education. She touches on the most crucial components of an effective ethnic studies curriculum, her own role as a race educator, and how communities can benefit from ethnic studies.
Dr. Nubia-Feliciano has a Ph.D. in education, a master’s degree in counseling, and a bachelor’s degree in social sciences. She previously taught at Cal State Long Beach as a part of their ethnic studies initiative and currently lectures at Cal State Fullerton, in addition to teaching part-time for UC Irvine and Chapman University. Her topics of instruction include leadership, ethics, feminisms of color, race and ethnicity, ethnic studies, and identity. Dr. Nubia-Feliciano is also the founder and CEO of the Colegas Group, a consulting company that provides academic and professional opportunities for scholars.
